Press releases | August 18, 2026 | Kitchener, Ontario and Ames, Iowa
Kitchener, Ontario and Ames, Iowa, August 18, 2026 — BinSentry Inc., a global leader in AI-powered animal feed inventory management technologies, and Distynct Corporation, an innovative provider of barn alarm systems for livestock barns, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together as Preferred Partners to provide protein producers and integrators with the best available technologies for real-time visibility and 24/7 monitoring of livestock barns, feed bins and supply chains.
The MOU enables the companies to work together as Preferred Partners so customers can easily pair Distynct’s and BinSentry’s technologies to get a complete picture of conditions inside their barns and feed systems.
“BinSentry and Distynct offer complementary solutions that can help protein producers make the critical leap from outdated manual systems to automated, data-based decision-making and efficiency,” said BinSentry CEO Ben Allen. “BinSentry will focus on the movement and consumption of feed — the most expensive part of raising animals — while Distynct provides around-the-clock environmental monitoring inside the barn. Working together as Preferred Partners allows animal producers to get the best technology available today from the best providers, knowing that data integration can be managed and trusted.”
BinSentry sensors and software provide feed mills and producers with real-time visibility into feed inventories and consumption, helping reduce waste, improve efficiency and strengthen supply chain resilience at scale. The platform uses best-in-class optical sensors and AI-powered algorithms to create detailed 3D images of the surface from any angle inside a farm feed bin or an ingredient bin at a mill. Real-time data from the bins is fed into user-friendly dashboards accessible from any device, anywhere, at any time.
Distynct’s proprietary barn alarm and remote monitoring system is the most reliable and user-friendly on the market. It was developed specifically for livestock and poultry production barns, providing remote monitoring of water, temperature, power, and other environmental conditions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The system integrates seamlessly with existing on-farm infrastructure, giving producers the tools they need to efficiently and proactively manage their entire operation, whether they have 20 sites or 20,000.
“Distynct was developed as an open platform to work with other technologies and answer critical questions about conditions inside animal barns, then put that information at producers’ fingertips, anywhere, anytime,” said Distynct founder and CEO BJ Brugman. “This MOU will allow our customers to pair systems from two of the most reliable and trusted names in live animal production for unparalleled, real-time visibility and data-based management from barn to feed bin to feed mill.”
